Anthurium plowmanii in 6" pot
Anthurium plowmanii is one of those plants that we always suggest for our customers looking for something to keep in their home. Most Anthuriums require very high humidity to perform well but plowmanii is different. It can easily take the dry air that your A/C or heater produces. And if you forget to water it for a little while, no problem, it doesn't mind being dry for short periods. When you do water it please make sure the soil drains well, it cannot be left to sit in water for very long. Low light is also not a problem for plowmanii, it loves it. Are you getting the idea here that this may be the perfect house plant? Oh yeah! And we haven't even talked about the leaves yet...the elongated leaves develop deeper waves along the edges as the plant grows larger. What other plant can boast about that? Okay now ya gotta have one of these! We think it'll become one of your favorites. I know we love 'em :)

Your Anthurium plowmanii will arrive in a 6" pot so it will have room to grow for a little while but it will need more room as it grows. Please keep it out of direct sunlight. In the jungle where it comes from it grows mainly in the understory so it only receives filtered light. With a little care your Anthurium will give you larger and more dramaticly rippled-edge leaves that this species is known for. Talk about making a statement!
